It's the 225th birth anniversary of George Gordon Noel Byron, 6th Baron Byron, otherwise known simply as Lord Byron. He is considered one of the leading poets of the Romantic Movement and personified the era with his flamboyance and notorious behavior. Today he is often described as the original rock star. The description of Lord Byron as, "mad, bad, and dangerous to know" comes from Lady Caroline Lamb, one of his paramours, upon their initial meeting.
